President Trump on 2018 Election Results

President Trump held a news conference in the White House East Room the day after the 2018 midterm elections. The president said “the Republican Party defied history to expand our Senate majority.” He praised House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and vowed to work with the new Democratic House majority in a bipartisan manner. In addition, the president threatened to respond to any House Democratic efforts to investigate the White House. Throughout the press conference, the president got into several heated exchanges with reporters including CNN’s Jim Acosta and PBS NewsHour’s Yamiche Alcindor.
